Built in 1876, the Mallahan Bridge (as it's formally known) is one-of-a-kind. It is the only known bridge built in this style of Columbia Bridge Works bowstring design.
It's social identity as Crybaby Bridge started in the 1990s by area high schoolers. According to this new-found local legend, the ghostly cries of an infant accidentally killed at the site — though no such accident was ever recorded — can be heard at who the hell knows when.
It's moniker of Crybaby Bridge is not quite as unique as its mechanical design, as no less than two dozen other bridges in Ohio share the same nickname. That said, it's still worth a visit! Maybe you can be the first to actually hear the wailing infant!
We actually don't know anything about this building, but it looks like it probably has a cool history.
Didn't pull a camper? Don't have a buddy in the area? No problem! A short drive away is the Lee Bell Motel, Ottawa's premier hotel accommodation. The Lee Bell has been Ottawa's highest rated hotel each of the last 10+ years.
