Putnam International Trailway Committee Releases 2025 Racing Dates, But There’s Just One Problem

PUTNAM COUNTY, OH—The Executive Committee of the Putnam International Trailway has unveiled the tentative dates for the highly anticipated 2025 racing season. Mark your calendars—maybe.
The proposed race dates, assuming they actually happen, are:
May 10
June 7
June 28
August 23
September 6
While local race fans may rejoice at the thought of Putnam County’s fastest 1/8th mile roaring back to life, there's one minor hiccup: the committee still has to vote on whether to have a season at all.
Sources say that a closed-door meeting, held at an undisclosed time and location sometime this spring, will determine the fate of the 2025 season.
One committee member, who spoke anonymously because he values his spot on the board more than he values his dignity, admitted he had no idea how the vote would go.
“We love the sport, we love putting on events,” he said, “but we hate all our drivers and despise all the fans.”
Still, despite their burning resentment for their own audience, the committee seems at least somewhat interested in keeping the event alive. “If the vote passes, we’ll put on a great season,” the committee member promised. “And if it doesn’t? Well, I guess Putnam County’s fastest 1/8th mile will become Putnam County’s quietest dust patch.”
For now, race enthusiasts will have to wait for the shadowy executive vote to determine whether they should start tuning their engines—or just tune out.
The committee stated that they will release the result of their vote by May 9th.
